Design Command was appointed to develop a new interior concept for The Sushi Co as the brand continues to grow across London. The brief was to elevate the space while keeping it simple, functional, and true to its roots.
Inspired by Japanese design principles, the new aesthetic introduces soft wood finishes, a calm colour palette, and layered textures. Archival prints have been reworked into bespoke wallcoverings, while Zen-inspired fabrics upholster seating, enhancing comfort and refinement. Bamboo planting brings a sense of freshness and contrast to the clean, minimal layout.
The design is grounded in the philosophy of kintsugi, with an emphasis on quiet detail and natural materials. The overall effect is relaxed and considered, supporting a slower, more focused dining experience.
The concept has been rolled out to sites in Hampstead, Harringay Green Lanes, and Canary Wharf, with Tower Bridge opening soon.
