Wildwood, Camberley

Wildwood is an Italian-inspired dining experience with a fresh, contemporary edge. The client’s brief for the Camberley restaurant was to create an inviting dining space with pops of colour and subtly integrated industrial qualities that add character to the interior and encapsulate the brand identity.

The different styles of seating along with the altering ceiling heights manage to segregate the interior, creating various dining zones. The raw finishes of the distressed zinc table tops and structural framing elements of the servery and partitions add to the industrialised feel. This, along with the white wash shiplap cladding, manages to connect the interior to the street giving an almost al-fresco, fresh feel to the restaurant that is suited to both daytime and evening style of dining.

It’s the furniture pieces with their colourful upholstery that bring a sense of vibrancy to the interior, complementing the geometric tiled flooring. The design has quirky additions too such as the use of sought out factory clocks, lighting and steel framed window partitions adding a sense of individuality and artistic quality to the space. The single sided servery is open, revealing the copper penny-clad pizza oven and kitchen activities that are integrated in and are wholly visible from the dining areas.

The collation of geometric patterns and bold colours in Wildwood’s fabrics and floor finishes create a fun and playful interior space. The floor is a mix of oak herringbone parquet mixed with the monotone geometric tiles. This is divided by the graphical interpretation of the branding which has been digitally imprinted on to the glass partitions with spherical pendants hanging in a linear formation along the length of the central banquette.
