Mercure Thurrock

Design Command were appointed to reimagine the interiors of Stifford Hall Hotel, a 97-key property inspired by the rich geometric and industrial heritage of Tilbury Fort.

Our design concept takes cues from Tilbury Forts geometry, translating its influence into materials and artwork in a refined, non-literal way. Reflective leathers subtly reference the movement of the Thames, while wallcoverings evoke the fluidity of water, creating a sense of depth and tranquillity. Metallic finishes pay homage to the artillery of Tilbury Fort, introducing a bold yet sophisticated edge to the space.

By carefully layering textures, finishes, and bespoke elements, we have crafted an experience that seamlessly connects heritage with contemporary elegance, ensuring an inviting and memorable stay for guests.

Our main responsibilities included:

• Concept design

• Production of technical drawing pack

• Production of CGIs

• Sample room

• Sourcing FF&E

• Budgeting and assisting with quotations from suppliers
